Things my mother wants you to know: I’m a journalist and have been a features writer for The Arizona Republic for more than 12 years. I covered Gabrielle Giffords’ recovery for the Republic and was on the paper’s Pulitzer finalist team recognized for coverage of the Giffords shooting. I also contribute to USA Today and have worked for The Los Angeles Times and The Baltimore Sun. I’ve been a finalist for The Livingston Award and the Nieman Foundation Fellowship at Harvard and have appeared on 20/20, National Public Radio, The NBC Nightly News, and CNN.
Things that are fun to know: I love pink Starbursts, old newspapers, Fillmore Street, parties with dancing, Jasper Johns, white rooms, Anthony Doerr, and lemon crepes. I like things under bell jars, The New Yorker and New Orleans, palm trees, the hot chocolate you get in Paris, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and tufted chairs. I hoard notebooks.
Other things I do: freelance interior decorating and magazine photo styling. My work has been published in AZ Magazine, The Arizona Republic, Prime Living magazine, and on Hostess With the Mostess and Apartment Therapy. Once I gave a keynote speech at a convention. That was scary.
